RUUTT--ROH!!
I guess you file this under one of my top "WTF Movie Moments" in the very early New Year but apparently rapper and founding member of the Making Mike Myers Uncomfortable Fan Club went on a three hour Twitter escape a couple days ago. Like ADD meth addict his tweets ran the gamut of topics; everything from starting a new Nike sneaker to pairing with director Spike Jonze to start a summer school. (Again WTF on that last one.)
One of his tweets also touched on the upcoming The Jetsons movie. Apparently he's in talks to be the creative director behind the impending film. Producer Denise Di Novi confirms that they did have a conversation and are interested in brainstorming about ideas, but discussions are very preliminary at this point.
I'm really at a loss to whether or not I should take this seriously. Kanye West is, shall we say, eccentric? I really question what he could bring to the table in any event. Dialogue? How about, "Mr. Cogsley does not like black people. Or robots." Casting? Lil' Wayne as Astro. Sound effects? Just get a T-Payne microphone. The possibilities are endless.
One thing's for sure, it's probably unlikely that Taylor Swift will be cast as Judy Jetson.
*sorry that should be "thinks"
ReplyDeleteKanye is nothing if not creative and outspoken; so long as there is some kind of filter between him and the finished product, this could be a good thing. I do wonder WHY we need a Jetson's movie, but in the grand scheme of Hollywood ideas, it isn't too bad.
ReplyDeleteRE: casting, forget a T-Pain microphone, get the man himself, at least to do an AutoTune-heavy, hip-hop version of the theme song. Come to think of it, that might actually be cool. Also, Lil John for Mr. Cogsley: just picture him screaming "JETSON!" in the same voice he uses for all of his other catchphrases.
Good Lord, I think I just talked myself into this whole idea lol
