Ex-stripper friends of Channing Tatum say he stole their story for "Magic Mike"

You couldn't drag me to Channing Tatum's upcoming film Magic Mike with a bulldozer*, but my wife and her friends sure are anticipating director Steven Soderbergh's male stripper magnum opus.  The story is apparently based on Tatum's own semi-autobiographical time as a stripper before he made it in Hollywood.
There's only one catch.  It's not Tatum's story.
Apparently the story of Mike is actually based on the real life events of Tatum's ex-stripping partners Thomas "Awesome" Austin (really???) and London Steele (again really???).  Steele and Austin are apparently very upset.  In an interview with "TMZ" Steele and Austin said they taught Tatum everything they knew about the male stripping business, and were surprised that Tatum didn't bother to consult them about accuracy.
To be fair Tatum did state that Mike's tale isn't his story but merely "a window into a world that I don't think very many people know a lot about."  I certainly don't and don't care to.
However, I can understand Austin and Steele's point.  If you're going to rip off their story at least throw them a bone (ooo bad choice of words) and bring them in as consultants.  Drop some cash to the people who helped inspire the story.
Magic Mike opens June 29th and stars Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello, Alex Pettyfer, and Matt Bomer.

*If you agree to take your significant other to see this movie you are a relationship saint but you also need to relinquish all of your man cards.
