Catching Fire and Star Trek 2 to light up IMAX next year

Personally I think 3D is gimmicky and a total joke.  Give me IMAX any day.
According to "The Hollywood Reporter" and "Paramount" two of the most highly anticipated films of 2013, Catching Fire and Star Trek 2, will be shooting and beaming respectively into IMAX theaters next year.  The Star Trek sequel will also be in 3D (unfortunately) but no word on if Catching Fire will be as well.  Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence says that certain parts of the film will be shot specifically for IMAX.*  How much of the film will be in IMAX is yet to be seen, but typically the action sequences get the most focus.  Dialogue scenes tend to be standard.  (And why wouldn't they be?  Does anyone desperately need to see Katniss and Peeta in a heated argument on a full IMAX screen?)
Star Trek 2** warps into theaters on May 17, 2013 while Catching Fire hits the theater target on November 22, 2013.

*Beyond pumped to see The Dark Knight Rises in IMAX.
**I highly doubt that the final title will be Star Trek 2.
