Ah rumors! Sometimes they are right on the money but more often than not the house rips your heart out. This is a case of the latter.
Although I reported the other day that actress Sarah Gadon would be playing Peter Parker/Spiderman's love interest Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spiderman 2 and 3, apparently I was wrong. While Gadon will in fact be in The Amazing Spiderman 2 it is only in a small undisclosed role and she will NOT be playing Mary Jane Watson. Gadon confirmed this on her Twitter account.
Also through Twitter producer Jeff Sneider stated categorically that the character of MJ would not even appear until The Amazing Spiderman 3 in 2016.
So there you have it folks. No Mary Jane Watson. Looks like Gwen Stacy will remain Spiderman's primary squeeze in the next film.
The Amazing Spiderman 2 hits theaters in May of next year.
