Hugh Jackman's star power is definitely at its peak. His turn as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables was epic and this year's The Wolverine was one of my favorite movies. Now it looks like he may be taking on one of history's most notorious pirates.
"Variety" reports that Jackman is in heavy negotiations to star in Joe Wright's Pan as legendary pirate Blackbeard. Javier Bardem was originally slated for the part but eventually passed.
For those of you wondering why an origin story about Peter Pan wouldn't include Captain Hook, fear not. Hook will in fact be a part of Pan and will start out as Peter's friend before becoming his enemy. The role of Peter Pan will apparently be an open casting call.
Pan opens June 26, 2015.
