Famed action director John McTiernan will return to direct film 'Red Squad'

If you had to name the best action director of all-time you could make a strong case for John McTiernan.  The guy's filmography reads like a laundry list of pure testosterone.  Die Hard, Predator, The Hunt for Red October--the list goes on and on.  While it's been eleven years since his last film Basic (which I've still yet to see) it looks like the ole boy is about to step behind the camera again in a few short months.

According to "Hannibal Classics" McTiernan will direct the film Red Squad later this Spring as soon as he is done serving a one year prison sentence.  (Don't ask me about it.  There's been plenty written and you can Google it yourself.  Kind of a railroad job if you ask me but hey such is life.)

The film centers around:

"...a story told in the spirit of a modern-day "Magnificent Seven."  The film centers on a former DEA agent, who has always had a rogue streak, and his select team of mercenaries as they descend upon a Mexican border town in a daring attempt to neutralize a ruthless drug lord."

Sounds a little like The Expendables but damn I just want to see McTiernan working again.*

*Predator had some of the best Arnie lines ever in a film.  EVER.
