Christopher McQuarrie to direct Colin Firth in new thriller

I always like to see a strong match between actor and director.

"Deadline" reports that writer/director Christopher McQuarrie will direct Academy Award winner Colin Firth in the thriller 3 to Kill.  The plot revolves around a businessman (Firth) who witnesses a murder and then is pursued by two deranged psychotic killers.

Sweet.

The film will be an adaptation of writer Jean-Patrick Manchette's novel of the same name which was previously adapted into a graphic novel.  (What hasn't been these days?)

I'm excited to see this matchup.  While I'm not the biggest fan of Firth's, his talent is undeniable and McQuarrie's past works (particularly his writing) speak for themselves.

No news on additional cast members at this time or a release date.
